The US President angered China when he signed a second bill into law late last week that supports the Hong Kong protestors. The US S&P 500 fell and the safe havens began to assert some buying pressure with the Yen off its recent lows. US stocks surged in the month of November on the hope that China and the USA would sign off on a Phase 1 trade deal, however Friday saw traders take some profits after China said the US has “sinister intentions” and should quit meddling in Hong Kong and China affairs.
This week will likely see markets start off on the back foot following Friday’s weak lead.
